Selectmen Minutes
September 3, 2024
Present: Chet Bowles, Rich Dufresne, Jonathan Shomody
Call to order by Chet Bowles at 5:32 pm.
Motion to approve the minutes of 8/20/2024 (Bowles/Dufresne). All in favor, motion carried.
The Board determined that a November meeting with Peterborough will work best.
The state primary election is scheduled for 9/10/2024, Board members need to be at the election from 11 am to 7 pm.
Review of the improvement list. After review of the budget it appears that there are funds to treat the wood shingle roof on the Schoolhouse. Funds for dehumidifiers for the Archive room and basement may also be available. There was discussion about brickwork needed for the exterior of the Schoolhouse. Ken Callahan is trying to obtain a second quote for this work. This improvement list will be addressed further at the 9/17/2024 meeting.
Cemetery Committee:
The goal for tonight is to present a recommended process for the purchase of cemetery plots. Mr. Dufresne reviewed the proposed process. One of the proposals is to have a “deed” book produced. Savron Graphics has agreed to produce this book. Motion to approve the purchase of a “deed” book by the Cemetery Committee (Bowles/Shomody). All in favor, motion carried.
Discussion of having a survey done of the Miller Road Cemetery, this may need to be a warrant article.
A copy of proposed rules and regulations was handed out, there are some changes that are going to be made. The Board requested that the revised version be given to them before final approval.
Jeff Osgood:
The Planning Board is working on a RV Ordinance, he will bring a copy for the Board’s review to the 9/17/2024 meeting.
