Selectmen Minutes
November 6, 2024
Present: Chet Bowles, Rich Dufresne, Jonathan Shomody
Call to order by Chet Bowles at 5:30 pm.
Motion to approve the 9/17/2024 minutes (Dufresne/Shomody). All in favor, motion carried.
Motion to approve the 10/15/2024 minutes (Bowles/Dufresne). All in favor, motion carried.
Review of the new five year contract with Avitar Associated for assessing and update. Motion to approve the 2025-2029 Avitar Associates contract (Bowles/Dufresne). All in favor, motion carried.
Cemetery Committee: Diane Callahan brought in a proof of the proposed deed book for cemetery lots. Ms. Callahan explained that duplicate paper is expensive, the estimated cost for 100 deeds in black and white is $135.00, estimated cost for 100 deeds with color is $165.00. The Board agreed to order a book with 100 deeds in black and white for $135.00. Discussion about the proposed policies and procedures for the cemetery. Motion to adopt the policies and procedures for the McCoy Road Cemetery (Dufresne/Bowles), All in favor, motion carried. Rich Dufresne agreed to be the Cemetery Supervisor to March 2025.
Discussion about the projects list submitted by Gina Goff. The Board determined that the wood shingle roof on the Schoolhouse will be allowed to age naturally. The other items on the list, including the brick work on the Schoolhouse will be revisited as the budget is put together. Separate warrant articles may be considered.
Reviewed an update for the intent to construct for the Ben Olson garage. Mr. Olson plans on changing the location of the proposed garage. The Board reviewed the new proposed location and had a concern that the proposed driveway to the garage is in the setback. The Town Administrator will contact Mr. Olson about this concern.
The Board noted that the 2025 ambulance numbers have been received. An email has been sent to the Peterborough Town Administrator to request Police, Fire, and Recycling numbers be sent as soon as possible.
Mr. Dufresne:
Suggested putting together a schedule for building maintenance items. He will work with the Town Administrator on this.
Mr. Shomody:
Asked if there is any update on the Emergency Management Director position. A notice will be sent out. Mr. Bowles has a person in mind and will speak to this person.
Mr. Bowles:
The election went smoothly. Sharon was the first town in the region to submit election results. There are some people that appeared to have a difficult time with the counting and may not be asked to help with election counts in the future. Mr. Dufresne stated that continuous improvement is the goal.
Informed the Board that the PB is working on reorganizing the zoning ordinance.
